Ancient Carved Mammoth Tooth With Roots
Greetings,
This is not only a mammoth tooth with the roots and part of the jaw bone, but a Native American carving and a “True Work Of Art”. It has all the criteria needed to qualify it as a work of art. Those being, Positive Shapes, Negative Shapes, Implied Lines, Cool Colors and Aesthetic Beauty.
You can see in the image with my finger on it, that this is a small mammoth tooth, as you can see in the other images it still has the roots intact and part of the jaw bone intact. However, we can also see in the rest of the images that from differ angles different likeness can be seen.
The mammoth tooth itself is from somewhere in the “Pleistocene Epoch”, the carving itself being at least 12,500 years old (Age of carving can be Estimated and Authenticated by the Mammoth likeness that is carved on it) which also falls in the “Pleistocene Epoch”, and was probably carved by a member of the “Llano culture” who are “Anasazi” ancestors known as the “Clovis People” (Clovis people are famous for their projectile “Clovis Points”).
This item was covered in a matrix which was removed, it is the original carving, however, to see it for the work of art that it is, the matrix had to be removed, the stone polished and sprayed with a protectant.

The way that I am able to authenticate this item is by having two identical carvings. The smaller one has the matrix still on it, the larger one it has been removed, however, If interested I will send you photo's where you can tell by the photos that these items are the same Cravings just one is smaller than the other, however, they do authenticate each others authenticity and each others age. The buyer gets both of the carvings.
