This is a small agate carving that was completely covered in an extremely hard matrix, however, after I removed it using a diamond bit this is what was underneath.

for those of you who do not know this, "agate" is sometimes used as a semi precious gemstone and used commercially for making jewelry.

This agate carving is an amazing work of art, it was carved by the Clovis people more than 12,500 years ago, this one piece shows their exceptional skill in working with stone.

If you look closely you can see my photographs that there is the outline of a skull inside this carving when it is held up to the light! (even though the skull can be seen in the photograph, my photography skills do not do this item justice as the skull can be seen much easier when held in your own hands)

Nevertheless, this item is truly amazing, it is 100% authentic, a true ancient work of art.

This item had to have the matrix removed and was then meticulously polished, nevertheless, it is still 100% authentic.
